There is no bigger problem for globe proponents than this one.
The idea is that, because if the Earth is a globe, it must have a downward slope and at some distance, it should curve out of our line of sight.

Here is a crude MS paint image I made to help visualize the problem. Of course it's not to scale, it is just to show how, beyond a certain point, you should not be able to see because the Earth curves below it. There must be a physical barrier at some point because if it's a globe, you can't look straight then see the bottom of the ball.

So based on the formula GPT showed us above, this photo is a real problem:

You can see the habitat 9.41 miles away, but also the water is visible for miles beyond that.
For someone trying to claim that photo is doctored, or that 9 miles isn't all that far, that's not a problem.

Sunlight refracts and bends the image up to our eye view making it look like it's directly in front of us?

I always thought atmospheric conditions were randomly dispersed. Yet somehow we are to believe that special atmospheric conditions occur year after year on roughly the same day that specifically allow us to see things that are supposed to be three full miles below our geometric horizon line of sight? Give me a break. I'd like to see that demonstrated scientifically that it is possible. Let me know when that experiment is done.
The reason it can be seen once a year is because the sun travels between the tropics of cancer and capricorn (which also explains why we have seasons), and on one specific day, it is directly over the mountain. The sun backlights it so that we can see through the atmosphere farther than we could when it isn't lit up like a christmas tree.
That isn't even the farthest distance we can see, here is a photo, that, I was unable to get the source of it, or a quality photo of it, but, it is one the mainstream "scientific" community is completely silent on. Why? Because they have absolutely no explanation for it. They don't even bother trying to claim their ridiculous "refraction" explanation for this one:
